The annual Pilgrimage to the Saints of Barking was started by members of the Orthodox Parish of St Helen of Colchester, which also commissioned the icon of the Saints of Barking. They were joined early on by members of the Orthodox Parish of St Botolph.
The Church of St Margaret of Antioch, next to Barking Abbey, has supported the Pilgrimage since it began.

Orthodox Fellowship of St John the Baptist Pan-Orthodox Fellowship founded in 1978, organising conferences, study weekends and some pilgrimages. Membership at £15 per year/£20 married couples, including two editions of Forerunner magazine.
